KGB Archiver is the compression tool with unbelievable high compression rate. KGB Archiver surpasses even such efficient compression tool like 7zip and UHARC in terms of the abilities. KGB Archiver is based on the PAQ6 compression.

Unfortunately although its powerful compression rate, it has high hardware requirements( processor with 1.5GHz clock and 256MB of RAM). Archives can be made in either KGB or ZIP format, and compression level can be set from minimal to maximum (with a lot of options in between). Plus, you can secure them by assigning a password, no matter which compression level you choose.

Some antivirus and anti spyware programs flag KGB Archiver as being infected/malware, although the application is perfectly safe and does not pose a threat to your system. This is called a 'false positive'. The term false positive is used when antivirus software wrongly classifies an innocuous ( inoffensive ) file as a virus. The incorrect detection may be due to heuristics or to an incorrect virus signature in a database. KGB Archiver( version 2.0.0.2) consumes only 3.7MB of your vital hard disk.

KGB archiver works on Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
